Are you healthy?
How do you know? What are you measuring?
Well, there are 5 things (or dimensions) that we can look at to determine if you are 'healthy.'
What is a dimension?
"A measurement of something in a particular direction"
What is health?
"The condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit; especially : freedom from physical disease or pain."
1. PHYSICAL HEALTH
This is about the body, fitness and nutrition as well as not being sick or injured.
Examples: keeping fit, eating well, good hygiene
2. SOCIAL HEALTH
This is about connecting with other people and having close friends.
Examples: enjoying social events like sport, coffee or parties
3. EMOTIONAL HEALTH
This is about being able to read, value and control your own emotions and the emotions of others.
Examples: use a journal
4. MENTAL HEALTH
This is about how you think. Is it positive or negative? It is being able to control your thoughts and think positively about yourself, your future and the world.
Examples: mindfulness
5. SPIRITUAL HEALTH
This is about having a connection to something that is bigger than you such as religion, spirituality or having a sense of belonging to a community or culture.
Examples: pray or meditate
