Introduction:
Recap the basic rules of netball with the class and briefly explain any new rules they will encounter in the lesson.
Introduce the learning outcomes and explain how they will be achieved through the lesson.
Warm-up:
Instruct students to jog around the netball court and gradually increase their speed.
Once the students are warmed up, set up a series of cones to create a circuit with various exercises, such as high knees, butt kicks, and side shuffles.
Instruction:
Demonstrate and explain netball skills and techniques, such as passing, catching, and shooting techniques.
Divide the class into small groups and assign each group a specific skill or technique to practice.
Encourage students to provide constructive feedback to their peers.
Gameplay:
Set up a mini game on the netball court.
Assign bibs to each team to differentiate between players.
Instruct students to play the game while applying the skills and techniques they learned earlier.
Encourage students to collaborate and communicate effectively within their team to achieve common goals.
Cool Down:
Instruct students to perform a few stretches to cool down their muscles.
Discuss the importance of teamwork and communication in netball.
Review the learning outcomes with the class and reflect on their achievements during the lesson.
Assessment:
Observe students throughout the lesson and provide feedback on their skill development, teamwork, and communication.
Conclude the lesson by asking students to reflect on their performance during the game and how they can further develop their netball skills in the future.
